Volunteering at Durham Western Heritage Museum is a rewarding experience. Being part of our volunteer team gives one the opportunity to meet visitors from all over the United States and beyond and to share your stories and knowledge about the museum and exhibits. As a volunteer, you will also meet and work with other wonderful volunteers who share a similar interest in being involved in one of the leading cultural institutions in the Omaha community. Other volunteer benefits include:
- Opportunities to see new exhibits before they are opened to the public and learn from some of the people who were involved in their research, collection and development
- Invitations to special volunteer events such as our monthly Brown Bag Lunch & Learn series, Annual Holiday Potluck, and yearly Volunteer Appreciation Dinner
- 50% discount at the Soda Fountain on the days that you volunteer
- 25% discount in the Gift Shop at all times
- Museum newsletter, Timelines, mailed to your home.
