Durham Western Heritage Museum offers a variety of achievement workshops for Scouts of all ages. The workshops are available September through May and can be scheduled for after school or on Saturdays. A $25 nonrefundable deposit is required to confirm reservations.
Brownies and Junior Girl Scouts can spend a fun-filled night at the museum and meet other troops/packs from all over the metro area. Professional museum staff will lead the scouts through hands-on activities as they work toward scout badges.
Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance by calling (402) 444-5071 ex. 556. The minimum class size is 10 Scouts and the maximum is 25.

Camp-Ins

- Junior Girl Scouts can earn the "Math Wizard " and "Science Discovery" badge.
Overnights begin at 6 p.m. on Friday and conclude at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning. An evening snack and breakfast will be provided.
Cost: $20.00/scout; $10.00/chaperone, leader and one co-leader are free
Brownie 2008 Dates: April 11
Junior Girl Scout 2008 Dates: April 4, and April 18
Reservations are required at least two weeks in advance and a 50% deposit is required to confirm registration for the Camp-In.
Girl Scout Saturday Workshops
The following workshops will be offered as a one-time Saturday program for Brownies and Juniors. This will allow small troops to attend programs because there is no minimum number.
Workshops are two hours on the date specified.
$8 per Girl Scout; Troop leader and one co-leader are free, each additional chaperone is $4.
A $25 deposit is required upon reservation.

Manners
Bonjour, Guten Tag, Hola, Konnichi wa, Shalom, Aloha what a way to say hello. Girls will spend the day learning about different customs, the proper way to make an introduction, how to use table manners, phone etiquette, and become a perfect hostess. Martha Stewart would be so proud!

Her Story
Spend the day learning about women in our history. Girls will learn about some amazing women in local history and how they shaped the future. Give a classic fairy tale a modern day twist, work with other troops to make care packages for the Lydia House, and start thinking about how you are going to make a difference in history. This class is truly the chance of a lifetime.

JUNIORS
Dance
Everyone can dance; they just have to find their own groove. Girls will spend a day observing a variety of dances and then learn to Salsa, Line Dance, Country Swing, Ballroom dance, as well as some other classic moves.
